Join us as we celebrate Denmark’s most beautiful art museum! Enjoy free admission for everyone, free birthday cake, and creative activities. In the birthday spirit, evening guests dining in the Brasserie can also enjoy complimentary bubbles on the house.
To take part in Kunsten’s birthday celebration, you need to register yourself and any companion. You can sign up through this form, and your registration is valid for the entire day. When you register, you will also be signed up for our newsletter, unless you already receive it – and you will enter the draw to win beautiful art posters and an annual membership to Klub Kunsten + Utzon.
Kunsten’s birthday celebration is for everyone, whether you are 2 or 100 years old, a seasoned museum guest or brand new and curious. If this is your very first visit to Kunsten, we promise to give you an extra warm welcome!
Throughout the day, you can visit the creative workshop Art-Lab, join guided tours in the exhibitions led by Kunsten’s staff and embark on a documentary time-travel experience as we screen films in the auditorium.
The program for the day will be updated continuously.
Competition
On the birthday, you will enter the competition to win a poster of your choice from the shop or an annual membership for Klub Kunsten + Utzon. When you register or check in with your membership card, you are automatically entered. Even if you already have an annual membership, you are still welcome to sign up here — it helps us estimate how much cake we need to bake.
Book a table at Brasserie Kunsten
A birthday calls for cake – and a little extra indulgence.
At Brasserie Kunsten, they are ready with a festive birthday atmosphere, sweet treats, and delicious dishes for guests of all ages.
We expect a full house, so if you want to be sure of a seat in the Brasserie, we recommend booking a table in advance.
Birthday at the Kunsten Shop
In the shop, we are celebrating everything new.
Kunsten Shop has just returned from Paris, and the shelves are filled with fresh finds, beautiful details, and carefully selected new design pieces. The shop is also decorated for Easter, so you can explore the colors and shapes of spring.
And of course, you can also discover the new, exclusive Picasso posters – released to mark Late Picasso, opening on May 9.
Get insight into how we build an exhibition
For our birthday, we are opening the doors — quite exceptionally — to the installation of the upcoming exhibition by Berit Heggenhougen-Jensen. Craftspeople, curators, and lighting experts are hard at work transforming the spaces, and on this day, you can walk along a special pathway through the unfinished exhibition.
A rare glimpse into the work that normally happens behind closed doors — and a chance to experience the museum in the midst of transformation.
